Malmbergs aloitti nykyisen toimintansa Ruotsissa vuonna 1981, suuntautumalla tuonti- agentuuri- ja kauppatoimintaan omilla jakelukanavilla ja tukkumyynnillä sähköliikkeille, tukkureille ja teollisuudelle.
